“We offer a highly
qualified surgical and endoscopy team together with our own anaesthetist on location, high technical standards of our medical equipment as well as a recovery room for our patients to find some rest after an endoscopy,” Priv. Doz. Dr. Brigitte Kovanyi-Holzer
Endoscopy is an excellent way of finding answers to a series of health care related questions. Endoscopy allows for viewing and examining hollow organs of the human body, like oesophagus, stomach, small intestine or colon, to early diagnose diseases and, if need be, to even start treatment during the screening.
Since you will be given drugs (sedatives or anaesthetics) before the screening, you will not feel any kind of pain. For the sake of patient safety a Consultant Anaesthetist will be present during the entire procedure. Typically you will be ready to leave the practice an hour after the screening has ended.
Please note that in case you have been given a short-term anaesthesia, you must not drive a vehicle for the remainder of the day. You should have someone to escort you home or have a taxi take you there!
